Sánchez appears this afternoon after the resignation of Santos Cerdán

The press conference held by the Prime Minister will be the first since the blackout that left the Peninsula without power.

The President of the Government and Secretary General of the PSOE, Pedro Sánchez , will hold a press conference this Thursday at 5:15 p.m. at the Socialist Federal Headquarters following the resignation of the party's current Secretary of Organization, Santos Cerdán .

Cerdán has resigned after a report from the UCO (University of Cordoba) came to light, indicating that he may have managed commissions in public works contracts.

The Prime Minister's appearance before reporters will be his first since April 29, when he held a press conference at the Moncloa Palace following the blackout that affected the Iberian Peninsula .

Sánchez had been defending Cerdán in the face of criticism from the opposition and even accused the PP of defaming "honest people."

In Wednesday's government oversight session, PP leader Alberto Núñez Feijóo asked him whether he still had confidence in the Socialist Organization Secretary, although Sánchez did not respond to that direct question.

Also scheduled for this afternoon is an appearance before reporters by the general secretary of the People's Party (PP), Cuca Gamarra, whose party has already decided that Cerdán's resignation is insufficient and that general elections should be called.
