The Chamber elected its board of directors: Julián David López, the government candidate, became the president of the corporation.

The House of Representatives elected its new speaker this Sunday during the installation of the new legislature. The speaker is Julián López, the congressman from the "La U" party who had been slated throughout the week to become the new head of the corporation. The congressman defeated Néstor Leonardo Rico Rico of Cambio Radical.
López received 104 votes, and the support of President Gustavo Petro's administration helped secure the congressman's seat. Rico Rico obtained 76.
Representatives Ingrid Aguirre (Citizen Force), Juan Sebastián Gómez (New Liberalism), and Norman Bañol Álvarez, who belongs to the special indigenous constituency and was the candidate nominated by the Historical Pact, were in the running for first vice president of the House.
Gómez, against all odds and the government's own wishes, ended up being elected as the corporation's first vice president with 108 votes. Bañol obtained 72 and there were 4 null votes.
Regarding the second vice presidency, which corresponded to the opposition, the winner was Representative Daniel Carvalho with 108 votes. He is a centrist and appears in the opposition following Verde Oxígeno's declaration that he opposes the Petro government.
Everything was planned so that it would be Carvalho alone, but at the last minute the race was extended to another candidate, Juan Manuel Cortés, who ran for the League of Anti-Corruption Governors and obtained 76 votes.

Even before the election, Representative Carvalho had assured that the person who would occupy the position would be determined by a clean vote .
Lidio García, the one elected to the Senate Lidio García, a senator from the Liberal Party, will be the president of the Senate from July 20th to June 20th, the end of the 2022-2026 term. He obtained 97 votes in favor out of 101 possible.
Amid the nominations, several highlighted the role García played as president of the same corporation during the pandemic. He was one of those who implemented virtual sessions.
They also emphasized that nominating him was a way to fulfill the agreements of the first legislative year, when they announced that the final year of the presidency would be for the Liberal Party and its most voted candidate, Lidio García.
