The Government and CNEB sign an agreement for the delivery and destruction of more than 13 tons of war material.

The National Coordinator of the Bolivarian Army (CNEB) will deliver more than 13 tons of war material to the national government as part of Agreement No. 12, signed in the Inda Zabaleta Indigenous Reserve, in the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño.
The commitment was made during the meeting of the Subcommittee on Security Guarantees, held between July 17 and 19 within the framework of the Peace Dialogue Roundtable.

According to the preliminary inventory presented by the CNEB, the military equipment is distributed across two regions: approximately 9 tons are located in Nariño and another 4.5 tons in Putumayo.
The delivery and subsequent destruction of this arsenal will be verified by the Mission to Support the Peace Process in Colombia of the Organization of American States (MAPP-OAS), the Security Forces, and the Peace Commission.
The destruction of the weapons will be carried out by specialized units of the Public Force, under established technical and security parameters.
"This technical, progressive, and verifiable process seeks to contribute to building trust between the parties, reduce the group's armed capacity, and provide greater guarantees of non-repetition for the affected communities," they said in a statement.
Progress in electoral participation and identification During the meeting, other key aspects for advancing the peace process were also discussed, such as the need to guarantee free, peaceful, and secure voting in the territories where the CNEB is present. Likewise, the importance of facilitating the identification of residents in these areas to ensure access to basic rights was addressed.
It was agreed that a technical document would be prepared to compile these topics and serve as a basis for analysis in the next round of dialogues.

The Agency for Reincorporation and Normalization (ARN) participated in the event to share its institutional offerings. This intervention seeks to advance the transition to full citizenship for CNEB members, as part of the comprehensive approach to the "total peace" strategy.
Agreement No. 12 builds on the commitments adopted in previous cycles, laying the groundwork for addressing issues such as electoral participation in areas of influence of the armed group, the development of pilot projects for the substitution of illicit economies, and the consolidation of a transformative peacekeeping force in the territories.
