Kipu Quantum makes the leap to Spain with the launch of a subsidiary in the Basque Country.

Kipu Quantum makes the leap to Spain with the launch of a subsidiary in the Basque Country.

German company Kipu Quantum , specializing in quantum computing solutions for industrial environments, has chosen Bilbao to open a subsidiary from which it will conduct its operations throughout Spain . The creation of Kipu Quantum Bizkaia represents a key strategic step in the company's international expansion, which thus aims to strengthen its commitment to "promoting the industrial utility of quantum computing in Europe and Latin America."

Thus, its new headquarters will serve as Kipu Quantum's operational center in Spain, enabling closer collaboration with Bizkaia Quantum Advanced Industries (BIQAIN), a pioneering initiative of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia in collaboration with Lantik , within the framework of BasQ , the program promoted by the Basque Government . The subsidiary will also establish links with leading industrial and academic partners.

"The opening of Kipu Quantum Bizkaia, SL is a natural evolution of our growing collaboration with the BIQAIN ecosystem," confirms Daniel Volz , co-founder and CEO of Kipu Quantum.

The fact that they have chosen Euskadi to establish themselves in Spain is based on the fact that "the Basque region is home to specialized industrial leaders who are part of the global supply chain," he warns, and he trusts in the value of quantum computing as an advantage "to maintain competitiveness." Therefore, he believes that "these players must invest in quantum computing at an industrial level," in sectors such as telecommunications, science, energy, manufacturing, and finance.

Headquartered in Germany and now also in Spain, Kipu Quantum will offer quantum solutions as a service through its PLANQK platform , currently used by more than 220 organizations, says Enrique Solano , co-founder and co-CEO of Kipu Quantum.

"Kipu's patented algorithmic technology is unlocking quantum advantage in today's quantum hardware for useful industrial applications, with a clear roadmap to scalability as quantum processors evolve," the company explains.

Quantum ecosystem in Bizkaia

"We're building Europe's most versatile quantum industry right here in Bizkaia . The arrival of Kipu Quantum strengthens our ability to help industries understand and integrate real-world quantum solutions. With partners like Kipu, we're turning vision into action and empowering companies to enter the era of quantum advantage," highlights Valentín García , Director of Innovation at Lantik.

Kipu Quantum Bizkaia aims to play "a fundamental role in connecting quantum innovation and its commercial impact ," working together with local and international stakeholders to help the national industry adopt quantum technology and regain its competitiveness.
