Microsoft incorporates GPT-5, OpenAI's new advanced AI model

Starting this Thursday, Microsoft will incorporate the GPT-5 model, recently launched by OpenAI, which will be available in a wide variety of the American company's services, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.
Microsoft said in a statement that this collaboration aims to provide new reasoning capabilities and improvements in coding and chat across all of its platforms.
In fact, he explains that the GPT-5 model was trained on Azure, Microsoft's cloud service, and emphasizes that GPT-5 includes OpenAI's latest reasoning models through "a fast and intelligent model."
The company founded by Bill Gates, the second largest in the world by market capitalization, has insisted that end users and businesses will be able to automatically benefit from the new and powerful AI reasoning capabilities through Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.
This new system will benefit users when tackling increasingly complex tasks "without having to think about which model is best for the job."
Developers across all Microsoft platforms will also have access to OpenAI GPT-5, so those using GitHub Copilot and Visual Studio Code will be able to write, test, and deploy code using GPT-5.
During the GPT-5 unveiling, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman compared the system's capabilities to having "a team of PhD-level experts in your pocket, working for you."
Microsoft has highlighted that developers will have access to the latest GPT-5 models in Azure AI Foundry starting this Thursday, "with trusted enterprise-grade security, compliance, and privacy protections available in Azure."
