Samsung launches smart air conditioning that optimizes energy consumption

Samsung launches smart air conditioning that optimizes energy consumption
In May 2025, Samsung unveiled its Bespoke AI WindFree air conditioner in Bogotá, a solution that incorporates artificial intelligence to analyze usage patterns and environmental conditions to optimize energy consumption.
This equipment is designed to provide a comfortable home environment, reduce manual operation, and contribute to user savings, in a context where the use of refrigeration systems is increasing.
According to official figures, in 2018, air conditioners accounted for nearly 33% of total electricity consumption in Colombia. The Mining and Energy Planning Unit projects that this consumption will increase by 42.8% by 2030. This trend has driven the development of more efficient technologies, such as those implemented by Samsung.
The Bespoke AI WindFree stands out for its adaptability thanks to a high-efficiency compressor that, using artificial intelligence, adjusts its operation based on the environment and user habits. This mechanism avoids unnecessary operations, which significantly contributes to reducing power consumption.
One of its standout features is AI Fast & Comfort Cooling, which automatically detects when the ideal temperature is reached and switches to WindFree mode, which disperses air through 23,000 micro-holes, avoiding direct currents and consuming less energy.
The device can be controlled from the SmartThings app, which allows you to manage features such as Welcome & Away Care—activating or deactivating the system when it detects the user's proximity to the home—or Map View, which provides an overview of the energy consumption and temperature of each installed unit. These tools facilitate efficient air conditioning management from anywhere.
