The lock that gave me peace of mind when I needed it most (and why I recommend it)

It all started with a concern that many share: I no longer lived with my parents, and even though they're fine, I can't stop thinking about what would happen if I ever needed help and couldn't get there in time. How do I open the door if I'm not there? How do I make sure they can get in and out easily, even if they forget their keys?
After searching several options, I found the EZVIZ DL05, a smart lock that ended up solving more than one problem with a single installation . It's not just about technology, but about design with real-life in mind.
One of the points that convinced me the most is that this lock offers five different access methods:
- Fingerprint (up to 50 records)
- Numeric code (also up to 50 combinations)
- Proximity card (tag type, small and portable)
- Emergency physical key
- Remote control via EZVIZ app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi

This allows me to manage who enters and when, without having to be there. For example, if my parents forget their card or if a visitor arrives while I'm away, I can open the door from my phone. I can also generate temporary codes for a specific person, such as a service representative or a technician.
And if I'm worried about security, the app sends me real-time notifications every time the door opens, or if it detects that it's not properly closed.

One of my concerns was how my parents would adapt to a "smart" lock. But the DL05 solves that problem naturally. If they don't want to use the app or memorize codes, they can continue using the physical tag, which works like a regular key. If they ever lose that access, I can unlock it from my phone in seconds.
In addition, it has features designed for general home security:
- Automatic locking when closing the door
- Child or pet lock, which prevents accidental opening from the inside.
- Privacy mode, which disables login except for the administrator
- Anti-spy codes, which allow you to write numbers before or after the actual code so that it is not visible to third parties.
It also temporarily blocks access for three minutes if it detects five failed attempts. And if the power supply's eight AA batteries ever run out, it has an emergency USB-C port for external recharging and regaining access.

Unlike other models on the market, this lock is constructed of aluminum alloy and feels sturdy. It's not one of those plastic plates that raise eyebrows from the first use. It feels heavy, sturdy, and has several internal pins that activate automatically when the lever is moved, providing a much more secure lock than conventional locks.
Plus, it's IP65-certified against dust and water, making it ideal for exterior doors or areas with changing weather. It operates smoothly between -25°C and 70°C, giving me even more peace of mind for the future.
As for the design, it's simple and elegant, with clean lines that match any door style. And one detail that pleasantly surprised me: the built-in doorbell, which rings both inside and outside the house, with a clear and pleasant tone.

Although I haven't fully utilized it yet, the DL05 can be integrated with other EZVIZ cameras. This allows a photo or video to be taken every time the lock is unlocked. They also announce that it will soon be compatible with Google Assistant and Alexa, further expanding the automation options.
I'm not writing this as a locksmith or home automation enthusiast. I'm writing this as someone who wanted to protect his family and, with this tool, found peace of mind. That feeling of knowing you can open the door when someone needs help, even if you're far away, is something that doesn't come easily.
