A hairy home run feast: Yucatán's powerful offense overwhelms Querétaro

The Lions turned the third game of the series against the Conspirators into batting practice.
And two details emerge: one, Querétaro's pitching is truly appalling, no one doubts that; another, everyone is saying that the slap on the wrist from the owners of the long-haired team had an effect.
In the first five innings, the Wildcats connected on 16 hits, with seven home runs, and scored 19 runs, their highest totals of the 2025 season in the dugout.
Rarely, if ever, have the Lions been seen in such a state as in the third game against Querétaro. They produced an explosive 11-run rally in the second inning to give comfort to Yoanner Negrín, who was able to overcome the problems caused by the visiting team.
And that wasn't all: in the fifth inning, there was another five-run rally, setting a Yucatán record of four home runs in one inning. First, Yangervis Solarte hit his second of the night, followed by Luis Juárez with another home run. After one out, Yadir Drake homered, then Aledmys Díaz (Thursday's second) homered.
The record for the Mexican League is five. Monclova hit four in one inning against Yucatán in 1986.
Negrín pitched five innings, with five hits, one walk, and five strikeouts. No one could take his 77th victory away from him this time, wearing the Beasts' jersey.— Gaspar Silveira Malaver
