Andrés Felipe Román gives a report of relief after collapsing during the Santa Fe vs. Nacional match.

Andrés Felipe Román, Atlético Nacional's full-back, set off alarm bells at El Campín Stadium when he collapsed during his team's 2-1 win over Independiente Santa Fe.
Román felt dizzy and then fell to the ground. Nacional's medics immediately rushed to his aid, and players from both teams called for an ambulance.
Finally, after an electrocardiogram, it was determined that he had no problem , and in fact, Román watched the rest of the game on Nacional's bench. He was replaced by Joan Castro.

After the match, which the Greens won with a double from Alfredo Morelos, Román posted on his social media in which he offered a message of reassurance.
"Guys, I'm fine. Thanks for all the messages," was the message from the Bogota full-back.

It's worth noting that Román rejoined Nacional after playing 38 minutes on Tuesday, in the 1-1 draw between Argentina and Colombia in Buenos Aires, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Román's situation this Thursday was reminiscent of the situation he experienced in February 2021, when he was all set to be transferred from Millonarios to Boca Juniors in Argentina.
Román managed to travel to Buenos Aires and a press conference had already been scheduled to introduce him, but in the end the Xeneize club did not sign him: he failed the medical exams and Boca reported that he had a heart problem.
At the time, Millonarios took charge of the matter and monitored Román's case, eventually proving, even with tests in Europe, that he was fit to play. While they ran the tests and ruled out any problems, he was sidelined for five months.
Román left Millonarios with his sporting rights in hand in mid-2022 and immediately signed with Atlético Nacional, with whom he has won five titles: one Liga, two Colombian Cups, and two Superligas.
