Betplay League standings for Matchday 17: América remains top; Cali is in trouble.
América de Cali remains at the top of Colombian football after a goalless draw away to Junior this Saturday on Matchday 17. However, Nacional could take the lead this Sunday.
The Red Devils arrived as league leaders, aiming to stay at the top of the table, while the Sharks, with 30 points, were hoping to retain their place among the top eight in the competition.

In the second half, Junior continued to maintain their offensive drive and even had a chance to break the deadlock in the 81st minute after a penalty was awarded. Cristian Báez took the lead from the penalty spot, but it was saved by Santiago Ibraim Silva.
Cali got tangled up
Deportivo Cali failed to win this Saturday at Palmaseca, complicating their chances of qualifying for the semifinals of the BetPlay League I-2025. The green-and-white team drew 1-1 with Deportes Tolima on Matchday 17 and was booed by their fans.

The first half excited the home fans with a strong performance from Cali, who were superior and did more to win the match. That's why they got their reward in the 40th minute, thanks to Jarlan Barrera's goal: a deserved 1-0 for the Azucareros.
Tolima's equalizer came from Jersson González, who made a good run to score the 1-1 goal in the 69th minute.
After the blow, Cali failed to react and nearly lost the game, but Tolima failed to convert two counterattack opportunities. Furthermore, the Azucarero team had to make a substitution due to Yeison Gordillo's injury.
In Bucaramanga's case, a win against Llaneros was vital to their aspirations, but the team from "half Colombia" defeated them 1-0, spoiling the "leopard" party.
This Sunday, the Paisa derby between Nacional and Medellín is being played, and the Verdolaga team has a chance to take the lead.
