When Velázquez announced plans to build the stadium, rumors pointed to the State of Mexico or even Hidalgo as potential destinations for the new building. However, Alarcón shared these three options, two of which are within Mexico City.
La Máquina has been repeatedly questioned about its lack of a stadium. Whether at Estadio Azul, the Azteca, the Olímpico Universitario, or the Cuauhtémoc, its loyal fans have done their part by supporting their team, but the desire to have a home that is theirs and no one else's has become a requirement for the board.
