Daniel Garrido and Adriano Sayú remain undefeated: they win in the Mérida event

Daniel “Zurdo” Garrido and Adriano Sayú maintained their undefeated records , after emerging victorious from their bouts on the “Clash of Titans” card, held on the night of Friday, October 31st at the Yucatán Siglo XXI Convention Center.

In the main event in the featherweight division , Garrido (11-0, 5 KOs) from Merida defeated Miguel Ángel “Coquerito” Rosas (8-3) from Tapatío by technical knockout at 2:58 minutes of the second round.

Prior to the official presentation and with the presence of former world champions Humberto “Chiquita” González and Daniel Zaragoza, 10 bells were run in honor of Dr. Rogelio Lazo Marrufo, a member of the Boxing and Wrestling Commission of the Yucatecan capital who recently passed away.

In the co-main event, Cuban-Yucatecan Adriano Sayú (7-0, 7 KOs) continued to demonstrate his power, this time defeating Luis “Monky” Guerrero from Monterrey in a super middleweight bout. In the fifth round, the fighter from Monterrey failed to come out, resulting in a knockout at 10 seconds.

Yucatecan Selina “Chica Elemento” Rojas (3-0-2) fought to a draw in her strawweight bout against Paola “Chapis” Ayala (3-4-1, 2 KOs) from Guadalajara. The judges' scorecards read: 55-59, 57-57, and 58-56.

Angel Gonzalez lost to Anthony “Atom” Canul in a minimumweight bout. After four rounds, the judges scored the fight unanimously with scores of 37-39 (2) and 36-40.

Cristian Cab defeated Edward “El Jaguar” Zárate from Chetumal by technical knockout (1:49 minutes of the third round), in the super middleweight division.

Meanwhile, Xavir López Constantino (Umán) lost to Alejandro Romerito Romero from Tabasco by unanimous decision (37-39 and 36-40×2) in the super lightweight division.

Axel Ek (Mérida) could not overcome his countryman, the debutant Ángel Ramos in super bantamweight, who finally won by split decision (37-39×2 and 39-37).

Manuel Lázaro de los Santos from Valladolid lost to Eulalio Sánchez (Mérida) in the lightweight division by unanimous decision (34-39 and 35-38 by two).

Ángel Santiago, from Campeche, won by knockout in the second round (10 seconds) against Eder Pech from Yucatán, in the featherweight division.
