Deputies postpone extraordinary session

MEXICO CITY (apro) .- Ricardo Monreal, president of the Political Coordination Board (Jucopo) in the Chamber of Deputies, announced that the extraordinary session will take place at the end of June and not next week, as had been announced.
In a video on his social media, the Morena deputy explained that the deadline for the session was changed because the reports on the 22 initiatives he announced were yet to be discussed.
"We are preparing for the extraordinary session. We will probably hold it in three more weeks because we need to finalize the initiatives that will be presented to regulate at least 22 matters.
"Some of the initiatives contain up to six laws to be amended, such as the National Guard law, which amends seven laws. Likewise, other matters amend several public regulations. It's a heavy, intense, but integrated task," he explained.
Ricardo Monreal also said that there are other pending initiatives in the Senate, such as the Missing Persons reform and the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law.
The Morena deputy explained that all of this is work prior to the extraordinary session, and to convene it, they must have the material and supplies, as well as the specified time.
"We'll review these issues in the coming days, but we'll likely be addressing these issues during the extraordinary period by the end of June. Good afternoon," he concluded.
