Mercedes presents its car for the 2025 World Championship

The German team Mercedes presented this Monday, February 24, its new car for the 2025 season: the W16 , the car with which the British driver George Russell and the Italian Kimi Antonelli will race in the Formula 1 (F1) World Championship, and which will make their debut in pre-season training in Bahrain, from 26 to 28 February.
Mercedes will thus begin its first season since 2012 without seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton , who will now drive for Italian team Ferrari, but will again have Russell, 27, and rookie Kim Antonelli, who is just 18.
"George has shown that he is one of the best drivers on the grid, capable of challenging for the championship if we can give him a car that can do so. As a veteran driver, he will help lead the team and support Kimi in his development," said Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff of Austria.
The line-up is also completed by the return of Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas, who will act as reserve driver in 2025 after having previously raced for the team between 2017 and 2021.

F1 2025 will kick off with the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park on the weekend of March 14-16. This will be the first time since 2019 that the Melbourne race will be the first of the season.
