Raúl leaves Castilla after six years and Arbeloa will be his replacement.

Real Madrid has made another coaching change. After Carlo Ancelotti left the first-team bench to make way for Xabi Alonso , Raúl González is now leaving Castilla . The coach has informed the club's board of his decision to leave Real Madrid's reserve team after six years in charge, during which he has competed in two promotion rounds to the Second Division, without achieving the desired result. In his place, Álvaro Arbeloa will be promoted from the U19s.
"Today I informed Real Madrid of my decision to end my time at the club. These have been seven seasons in which I have enjoyed the great passion for football that I have had since I was a child," the former player said in a statement. Raúl, who has a lifetime contract with Real Madrid, is now planning new experiences away from Valdebebas after several years in which he has had offers from teams in the Bundesliga and the Premier League .
"I will proudly enjoy the successes achieved by each of the players I have coached, and they all receive my affection and gratitude for everything they have given. A new stage in my life as a coach now begins outside of this club , with the conviction that one day I will return to what has always been my home," González explained.
Madrid, for its part, expressed that "it has been an honor to have one of the greatest legends in our history and in world football as a coach and trainer of our youth system." During his time at Valdebebas, Raúl managed the Cadete B and Juvenil B teams in the 2018-2019 season and later became the coach of Castilla. In addition, in August 2020, he managed the Juvenil A team, which won the Youth Champions League .
