The Bogotá Mayor's Office and the District Health Secretariat are alerting the public about the presence of individuals who, in recent days, have been posing as state officials and impersonating Welfare Managers to break into homes and commit robberies. How can we identify them and avoid falling for a scam?
The Bogotá Health Secretariat's Wellness Managers are officials responsible for providing free health services directly to the city's homes, with the goal of bringing medical care to the entire population, especially in situations such as pregnancy, birth, chronic illnesses, disabilities, and mental health. Their identification must be as follows:
- Uniform and ID: Wellness Managers always wear an institutional blue jacket with the logo of the Integrated Health Services Subnetworks and an official ID from the subnetwork to which they belong (South, Southwest, North or Central East).
- Authorized entry: They only enter homes if people authorize it and only in spaces authorized by the owner. They never offer financial benefits or pressure to enter. If you have any questions, they will provide the means and time necessary to verify your identity.
- Free services: All services provided by these teams are completely free.
