Alençon (61): PSG celebrations: a finished car is thrown at high speed into a shop window and catches fire. Residential building destroyed, 2 injured in hospital.

The scene took place as hundreds of people celebrated the Parisian club's victory in the European Cup on Rue de Lattre-de-Tassigny and Rue du Pont-Neuf. Numerous cars paraded by, honking their horns, with passengers getting out of their vehicles to shout their joy.

According to our information, around 12:50 a.m. on Rue du Pont-Neuf, a car attempted to overtake another vehicle. But the driver lost control of his vehicle and ended up right in the middle of the AXA agency. As the car caught fire, its passengers got out. The flames spread to the rest of the building, in front of a crowd of witnesses.

"The fire quickly spread to the roof," explains Lieutenant Colonel Thierry Foltzer-Mazzola of the Orne Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS). "Hot gas and smoke invaded the attic, which runs between the buildings, spreading the flames even further."
