Bois d'Arcy Prison (78): an inmate, a guard and an integration advisor suspected of large-scale drug trafficking
Six months after drug trafficking was reported in Bois d'Arcy prison, a trial is about to take place. According to BFMTV, seven men will appear before the Versailles court on August 20, confirming reports from Actu.fr and Le Parisien. Among them are inmates from the prison, a prison guard, and a career counselor who worked in a workshop with the inmates. “ The pace was frenetic ,” said a source close to the investigation.
It all began in February 2025, when the prison administration received information that a major drug trafficking operation was underway within the facility. A career counselor working for a toy restoration company that employed inmates within the remand center was at the center of suspicion.
The 41-year-old man was suspected of smuggling kilos of narcotics as part of his business to an inmate, Bengali Y., 39, who was employed inside the prison by the same company. Bengali Y. is “a seasoned offender with a long criminal record, very comfortable in the prison environment,” a source close to the investigation told BFMTV. According to the same information received by the prison administration, this trafficking would have generated some 20,000 euros in turnover per week.
