The Washington bubble is well-known and reviled in the United States. It's a capital city beyond the surface, composed of seasoned politicians, consultants, and journalists, for whom Donald Trump's political trajectory will remain forever obscure.

But there is another bubble, the one in which the American president is now enclosing himself, as concerns mount over a possible economic short circuit. In this parallel world streaked with gold, the beginning of this second term is shaping an incomparable happiness, for the billionaire and his country. On Tuesday, April 29, near Detroit (Michigan), Donald Trump did not have enough warm words to congratulate himself , after "the most successful first hundred days of any administration in the history of our country (...) We are just getting started, you haven't seen anything yet!"

Delivered in Warren, in a county largely committed to his cause, Donald Trump's speech resembled more a campaign postface than a formal address. It was full of his customary digressions, time travel, blatant lies, and nastiness toward Democrats. It's as if he's missing him: the president continues to talk about Joe Biden, even organizing an oral consultation with the public to find out which nickname was more appropriate: Sleepy Joe or Crooked Joe, the sleepy one or the corrupt one. "Where they are best is at cheating in elections," he said of the Democrats, who have allegedly "totally lost all confidence." On the other hand, Donald Trump made no educational effort to give coherence to his customs policy, which is making the markets and Americans nervous.
