For their big comeback on stage, the group Oasis paid tribute to Diogo Jota
After more than 15 years of absence and a now-legendary split, Oasis kicked off their tour with a show at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, on Friday, July 4. At the end of the concert, the Gallagher brothers paid tribute to Diogo Jota, the Portuguese player for Liverpool who died the day before in a car accident.

A historic and emotional evening. This Friday, July 4, 2025, the music world was focused on the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. It was there that the band Oasis gave their first concert in over 15 years, kicking off an international tour. But beyond the fans' emotion at this reformation, the room thrilled with a beautiful tribute to Diogo Jota .

At the end of the concert, the Gallagher brothers sang their song "Live Forever." During the performance, a photo of the Portuguese player was displayed on the giant screen: from behind, he was wearing the Liverpool jersey bearing his number 20. The initiative was warmly welcomed by the crowd with applause.

The two brothers put aside their Manchester City fandom—or almost, as a club flag was displayed at the back of the stage—to share the grief of Liverpool supporters. Diogo Jota died Thursday, like his brother André Silva, in a terrible car accident in Spain. He was 28 years old.
