Paris: 79-year-old woman raped by Algerian illegal immigrant who offered to deliver her groceries
In the dock of this Paris courtroom this Tuesday, the 34-year-old alleged rapist, wearing a gray sweatshirt and with close-cropped hair, denies it, but nothing helps: he remains in custody by the investigating chamber. He is suspected of having, in April 2024 in the 20th arrondissement of the capital, abused a vulnerable 79-year-old woman, whose home he had been invited into. "I did not rape this woman," asserts the mechanic of Algerian origin, who has been living undocumented in France for nine years.
He has no criminal record, and psychiatrists have found no mental illness in him. As for his sex life, investigations have revealed frequent visits to prostitutes and a taste for pornographic videos depicting older women.
