Robbery in a Ministry of the Interior building in Lyon: kicks, spitting in the face and biting, the violent arrest of Mohammed M., Anis H. and Zied R., three foreigners including a former Tunisian gendarme and a former Algerian soldier

Three foreigners were tried on Friday, in immediate appearance, by the Lyon court, two days after a robbery by climbing committed... in the premises of the Ministry of the Interior.

In the dock, Mohamed M., 33, who spent 11 years as a gendarme in Tunisia, admits to having "picked up things" on the sidewalk while drunk, without suspecting their origin, he told the judges, without convincing them. Anis H., arrested on the scaffolding, has no choice but to admit to having "taken out the coffee maker and something else to sell them." The 33-year-old former Algerian soldier, who suffers from a psychiatric disorder, has already been convicted three times in France, including for theft, since his arrival in France in 2022. He unsuccessfully denies attacking the arresting police officers, kicking them, spitting in their faces, and biting their fingers. He was sentenced to ten months in prison, with a committal warrant, and a three-year ban from French territory. He must pay €100 to each of the four police officers he attacked, in compensation for their losses.

Zied R., a 38-year-old Tunisian, denies, without convincing the magistrates, having "participated in the theft. My wife had sent me to get some milk. A colleague told me he was squatting here. I only came in to urinate."
