United States: Elon Musk present at Trump's first cabinet meeting on Wednesday

Appointed by the president to head the Department of Government Efficiency, Elon Musk is tasked with reducing public spending in the American government.

White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said Tuesday that Musk, who is in the midst of a sweeping overhaul of the federal bureaucracy , will attend the first cabinet meeting of President Donald Trump's second term on Wednesday.

The multi-billionaire, who does not have a ministerial portfolio but has the status of a "special employee" of the government, heads a commission for government efficiency (Doge), whose spectacular announcements and radical decisions continue to shake up the American state apparatus.
