"There will be no featuring": Gims denies a musical collaboration with Donald Trump's daughter-in-law

The artist denies any musical collaboration with the U.S. President's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. He also announces that he has no producer.
By Solenne BertrandThey were supposed to sign the most unlikely duet of the year... But it will ultimately not happen. Singer Gims announced this Wednesday, July 23, in a story on his Instagram account, that "there will be no featuring with [Lara] Trump." The announcement was made two days ago by talent agent and producer Liil-Serge Mbeutcha, whose role the singer now seems to deny.
Lara Trump, an American politician who became a country singer, is the wife of Eric Trump, the third son of the President of the United States. She was the one who initiated this request.
According to talent agent and producer Liil-Serge Mbeutcha, the two artists had communicated via video conference and WhatsApp messages. They had composed a song that was to be titled "Makassi," a Lingala word ( a language spoken in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Gims's native country ) meaning "strong."
The same source assured that the multilingual track (French, English, Lingala) had been recorded remotely, in a ballet of back-and-forths between studios. Le Parisien, which had recounted the behind-the-scenes of this collaboration in an article published two days ago , had been able to listen to the track exclusively. A music video was to be shot during the summer in Manhattan.
The producer even claimed that this track would be neither a pose nor a buzz. But the fruit of a friendship as sincere as it was unexpected. However, doubts remain about his behind-the-scenes account of this musical collaboration. This Wednesday, still on his Instagram story, Gims assured that he "does not have a producer." Active on the same social network, producer Liil-Serge Mbeutcha has not yet responded to the artist's comments. So, watch this space.
