Algrange. The Algrange Mu'Zik Live festival begins this Friday: what you need to know

For sixteen years now, Place François-Mitterrand in Algrange has been buzzing with activity at the start of each summer. 2025 will be no different: the Algrange Mu'Zik Live festival has returned for two evenings. Several thousand spectators will flock there again on Friday and Saturday.
Last year, they left it by singing Johnny's tunes in chorus , fervently accompanying the powerful voice of Jean-Baptiste Guégan, the rocker's inimitable vocal double. Tonight, they'll be back swaying to the Afro-beat rhythms of Collectif Métissé. A big departure, yes, but a totally assumed one.

Algrange Mu'zik Live has forged its identity with a highly varied lineup capable of appealing to both reggae fans and punks alike over the course of a weekend. Each evening, several hundred people flock to the à la carte concerts, featuring a salad of tomatoes and onions. For the festival's tenth anniversary, Trust electrified the crowd. Catherine Ringer, Skip The Use, Tryo, Youssoupha, Mass Hysteria, Columbine, and No One Is Innocent followed. This year, Collectif Métissé, Lofofora, Diamond Dogs, Les Tambours du Bronz, and Will Barber will be performing.
The subject has long been debated within the town hall and the Acas association, which organizes the event. Free from the start, the festival almost became a paid event a few years ago to allow it to grow. The city has never hidden its desire to relocate the festival to the Peace site and back it up with a campsite. Alas, this project has fallen through. In any case, Algrange Mu'Zik Live remains and will remain free, until further notice...
They are the guarantors of the good humor and the family atmosphere of the festival: the volunteers of the association will be there again this weekend, to welcome the public and the artists. In front of the stage or backstage, they are attentive to respond to requests . All this week, they were already at work to prepare the food stands, arrange the space, secure the place thanks to the logistical means provided by the town hall…

Could there be a black cat among the organizers? In recent years, the weather has rarely been kind. The faithful surely remember the downpours that accompanied Catherine Ringer's concert. Or the storm that forced the organizers to cancel two concerts in 2019. This year, fortunately, the sun should shine on Algrange. Let the party begin!
