The inclusion of Arabic at the Avignon Festival, which runs from July 5 to 26, has led to the presentation of works with roots in Morocco, Tunisia, and Lebanon. This represents an intense revival of theater in the Maghreb and the Middle East, where it has long been considered a colonial art.

This year in Avignon, festival-goers have the opportunity to experience a promising encounter: with theater from the Arab world, whose language is the guest of this 79th edition. From Lebanon to Tunisia, from Morocco to Iraq, creations that draw their most vibrant energy from it should allow them to approach a diverse, abundant scene that has, for the past fifteen years, been driven by intense renewal. A rare opportunity for both audiences and artists.
