Bertignac, Féfé, Guizmo… In Eure-et-Loir, the Marcel Festoch' is doing more than just resisting by attracting more and more headliners.

Big names will once again be featured at the event scheduled from Thursday, May 29th to Sunday in Illiers-Combray. More than 6,000 spectators are expected for the 5th edition of this event, which has found its place in a fragile economic climate that is unfavorable for festivals.

Louis Bertignac, Joyce Jonathan, Féfé, former member of the Saïan Supa Crew, Babet, the singer and violinist of Dionysos, or Guizmo, the voice that made the great hours of the group Tryo… The fifth edition of Marcel Festoch' will bring the headliners to its stage in Illiers-Combray (Eure-et-Loir), starting this Thursday, May 29 and lasting until Sunday.

This highly ambitious program, curated by Olivier Rialland, allows organizers to hope for record attendance, just one year after surpassing the 6,000 spectator mark. This surge has, once again, been reflected in online bookings. In February, the festival announced that more than 50% of the tickets had already been sold online (70% of tickets for Saturday, May 31).

A fan of the French rock band Téléphone, Gaëlle wouldn't have missed the Louis Bertignac concert, closing the Marcel Festoch', "for anything in the world." This is the second year that this forty-year-old has booked tickets for herself and her 10-year-old daughter. "Bertignac and Téléphone represent my childhood and that of my friends," she confides. "I'll be seeing a lot of them this weekend. The program for this festival is really nice and the ticket prices are reasonable* if you compare them to Vieilles Charrues , Eurockéennes in Belfort or even Terres du Son in Tours, where I used to go when I was a student."

In just a few years, the event has carved out a place for itself among the select group of spring and summer festivals that matter, without being held back in its rise by the unfavorable economic climate, which has led local authorities to reduce public subsidies for cultural events. The recipe for success? A controlled budget, a meticulously planned and well-oiled organization. All these factors contribute to maintaining the trust of financial backers.

In Eure-et-Loir, the "Jazz de mars", which celebrated its 31st anniversary this year, launched an appeal for donations at the end of 2024 to compensate for the withdrawal of the Centre-Val de Loire region.

But music fans can rest assured, the party will continue in full swing in the department. After the Marcel Festoch', it will be the turn of "Lucé en fête" to liven up the Eurelian evenings from June 26th to 28th. This time, the program includes sets from renowned DJs (Kavinsky, Mosimann, Sound of Legend, Jabberwocky, etc.).

* From 29 euros for one day to 65 euros for a four-day pass and 10 euros for children under 12.
