In the cutthroat world of fashion, it's all too rare for a house to pay tribute to its creative director upon his or her departure. In Demna's case, the situation was rather favorable, as the Georgian left Balenciaga after his couture show on July 9th to join another Kering brand, Gucci , in the process. It was the group that encouraged him to share his perspective on the past ten years with the general public. In a month and a half, with the help of Gaspard de Massé, the head of the house archives, he created this staging of 101 pieces in the chapel of the former Laennec Hospital, Kering's headquarters since 2016.
