In Ribéracois, the festival has become a must-see event for years. For one weekend, this small village of 250 inhabitants attracts thousands of visitors.

"The festival has always existed in Siorac-de-Ribérac. It was revived in 1979," says the town's mayor, Jean-Pierre Chaumette. Organized by the Animer pour vivre festival committee in Siorac-de-Ribérac, the event will feature four days of celebration this year, from July 25th to 28th.

The festivities will kick off Friday evening with a gourmet market set up in the heart of the village, hosted by Christophe Barrere. On Saturday, nature lovers will be in the spotlight with a 10-kilometer hike through the Double Forest. The start is scheduled from the village hall at 9 a.m. "Our town is extremely wooded. We have numerous trails maintained by technical services, hikers, and hunters alike." This will certainly be enough to take in some sections of the Double Trail, organized every year around Candlemas. In the evening, guests will be able to enjoy the traditional grilled ham, in a festive atmosphere, once again guaranteed at the village hall.

The fireworks will set the town ablaze

On Sunday, the village will be transformed into a vast flea market, with the main street hosting numerous exhibitors. Meanwhile, the more athletic will take on two mountain bike trails of 25 and 40 km through the surrounding countryside. The highlight of this festive weekend will be the synchronized fireworks display with sound on Sunday evening, set off at the foot of the town walls, with a burning of the town. "The spectacle can be admired from the valley below the town, offering an ideal vantage point," recommends the mayor. "We are fortunate to have an ideal setting for this type of show, our village being listed with three flowers in the Villes et Villages Fleuris label."

Finally, the festival will conclude on Monday evening with the highly anticipated crepe party, during which more than 200 liters of batter will be prepared by volunteers. Entertainment will be provided by Sandrine Constant and her traveling stage, "Ma Petite Scène."
