In Antibes, the Garoupe lighthouse will once again be the setting for the "Cap de lire" exhibition this Sunday.

A dummy mini-lighthouse has been installed since Wednesday at the foot of the original, in the heart of the Garoupe sanctuary in Antibes. "Our book hut, specially designed for our fair, awaits you!" exclaimed the organizers on the Facebook page of the Cap de lire event (1). This literary event, which is celebrating its fourth edition, aims to highlight "around forty new authors" through book signings, activities, story readings and writing competitions. "The fair welcomes both established authors and promising new writers," the press release states.
A godmother at the head of the salonAuthor of the detective series Les enquêtes du Lieutenant Leclou and several other works, Virginie Paquier will be the patron of this edition. Alongside her, other writers will be present to meet and interact with readers, such as award-winning author and photographer Alexandre Schoedler—a specialist in the ancient world, particularly Greco-Roman and Egyptian antiquity—and teacher and author of fantasy and science fiction Valéria Carvet.
Open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the fair offers several prizes to be won by the forty registered participants: three Literature Prizes and the Youth Prize. The winners will be announced at 2 p.m., alongside the monthly Garoupe market, which will take place at the same venue.
No free shuttle will be provided to access the festival. The parking lot near the lighthouse will remain accessible as usual. If there are no spaces available, visitors will have to park below and continue on foot.
