The 45th Montpellier Danse Festival opens on Sunday, June 21. Among the choreographers scheduled, Ohad Naharin, Salia Sanou, and Armin Hokmi demonstrate the essential dialogue they maintain with their dancers.

“The relationships I have with my dancers are the most personal, the most intimate, that I have ever had with anyone in the world.” Ohad Naharin , choreographer of the Batsheva Dance Company, could not create a piece without his dancers by his side, without their energy, their emotions. At the helm of the company since 1990, the Israeli choreographer cherishes his dancers, as much as he demands the best from them. “When I watch my performances, I can be moved to tears by their interpretation and translation of my work. And I can also be very frustrated and bored,” the choreographer says honestly.
