Join us at the Jazz à Tourrettes festival on July 4 and 5 (and it's free)

The meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5 in the magnificent setting of the Place du Château du Puy, whose facade will be adorned with colorful mapping for the occasion as soon as the musicians take over the space and transform this corner of the Pays de Fayence into a real open-air stage.
Mayor Camille Bouge insists that this "Tourrettes Jazz Festival" remains free and its president, Morgane Las Dit Peisson, explains why and reveals the behind-the-scenes details of this 22nd edition.
"The event is certainly free and accessible to all, but it has also become a reference for jazz lovers in the region, onlookers and the curious attracted each year by its conviviality. This edition will be no exception to the rule because our artistic coordinator, Marie Floch, offers a poster that is both varied and demanding, faithful to the identity of the festival."
Ask for the programThe organizers present it in detail.
"On Friday at 8:30 p.m., the trio Au Fil des Cordes will open this festival with a musical proposal where accordion, guitar and double bass intertwine to create a delicate jazz, with gypsy and Mediterranean influences. An acoustic and expressive formation, perfect to initiate the evening. It will be followed by the Sharon Clark Quartet. Originally from Washington, the American singer pays homage to the great voices of jazz with a powerful timbre and a rare elegance and accompanied by seasoned Parisian musicians, she offers a dive into a classical repertoire, carried by the warmth and mastery of her interpretation."
The next day, Saturday July 5, still at 8:30 p.m., "make way for the communicative energy of The Martinians, a quintet with an assertive style who will revisit standards with a touch of modernity and a palpable pleasure of playing for a lively, accessible and joyful jazz which has also given rise to a first album, entitled Signature " .
And to close? "We will be lucky enough to have, on the stage of the Château du Puy, Mourad Benhammou and His Soulful Drums, a key figure in the drumming world, considered one of the best musicians in France and who is signing here a project in homage to African-American rhythms and the heritage of hard bop, between robust swing and soulful nuances... A generous performance, both technical and deeply inhabited."
With these four groups, the festival continues to champion a human-scale, eclectic and high-quality program, in a setting conducive to listening and relaxation.
Practical side: on the Place du Château du Puy, the Festival Committee's refreshment bar and Sandra and Fabrice's famous wood-fired socca will be there (no credit card payment).
And for peace of mind, the Boudoura and Maison des Associations car parks are free, and those in Fayence town centre, located a 10-minute walk from Place du Puy, are also available to festival-goers.
