Katy Perry almost fell on spectators during a concert in San Francisco
The singer narrowly escaped disaster on July 18. While performing the song "Roar," the star was thrown dangerously off balance when her giant butterfly, a stage prop, suffered a prop failure.
The year 2025 is an eventful one for Katy Perry . After her highly controversial space trip in April and her split from actor Orlando Bloom in June, the Californian singer nearly fell several meters during her concert in San Francisco on July 18, reports USA Today Entertainment . While she was performing her hit song Roar on a robotic butterfly flying above the audience, the metal prop suddenly collapsed and nearly knocked the artist over. Jostled, the star clung to one of the robot's wings and stopped singing for a few seconds, before resuming. According to the American media, the technical incident occurred following a propeller failure.
Filmed by spectators, the sequence went viral on social media. Not without humor, Katy Perry capitalized on the buzz by reposting the video of her incident on Instagram: " Good night, San Fran ," she commented self-deprecatingly.

While performing " Woman's World" in Australia in June 2025, the American star was trapped in a metal cage for several minutes before being rescued by members of her team. These live mishaps are reminiscent of those experienced by Beyoncé in Houston the same month. Riding in a scarlet Cadillac, the R&B singer nearly plunged into the crowd when a cable snapped . Since then, the star has modified the show for her Cowboy Carter Tour , replacing the car with a robotic horse.
It is currently unclear whether Katy Perry will change her concert schedule. The singer will conclude her Lifetimes Tour on December 7 in Abu Dhabi.
