Meuse. Discover the Meuse coasts on a trek from Creuë: Snow White in the vineyards and orchards

Are we going on another trek? Or perhaps a hike for the purists of the term? Our desire to discover the Meuse coast in a different way brought us to the village of Creuë, past vineyards and orchards before heading into the forest in the footsteps of Snow White's house and the heritage of Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel. As always, this is a loop, which we recommend starting in Creuë, so as not to "hit the slope" right away at the risk of getting discouraged. We know what we're talking about... In fact, water and a hat will be very useful to follow us for a good ten kilometers with a notable hill along the way...
In Creuë, you can park in the square in front of the town hall. Cross the road and take a path parallel to the road, which leads you to the heart of the typical landscapes of the Côtes de Meuse: vineyards, vines, and a magnificent panorama where the winemakers of the IGP Côtes de Meuse take you on a biannual gourmet walk. We also recommend this one! There are several trails that have been marked out by the Friends of the Côtes. We recommend the Meussaumont trail, which runs alongside the vineyards of the eponymous estate, as well as the Léo-Paul Lienard trail. Depending on the season, cherries or mirabelles color the path.
This slopes gently down to the entrance to Vigneulles-lès-Hattonchâtel. At the intersection of Chemin des Galatas and the D179, take the sidewalk on your left to the next intersection and turn left. From there, follow the red circle, Rue Raymond-Poincaré, Rue de l'Abreuvoir and Chemin de Hamécourt (on your left), to the start of Côte Marion. You are at the foot of the Côtes de Meuse, halfway there, and the path begins to climb up to a small path that leads... to Snow White's house. At least what remains of this jewel of heritage that has cultivated many imaginations...
This was the place where witches and wizards took refuge when two little boys chased them out of holes in the school wall in the 1990s. One became a winemaker, the other goes on treks. An association has tried to raise funds and resources to renovate this jewel of Vigneulles' heritage. So you never know? After this steep path to the Sainte-Claire site, another climbs more steeply for a few hundred meters before arriving at the plateau that allows you to (re)discover the village of Creuë. Are you thirsty? Stop by the Meussaumont estate, just to "come full circle"!
