Mussipontain Basin: Free on-demand transport for young people coming soon

On-demand transport is an existing service in the Pont-à-Mousson basin community of communes. "Of the 31 communes, 19 are served by on-demand transport," explains Noël Guérard, Vice President of Transport. "These are towns not served by a bus line. Pagny-sur-Moselle and Vandières were added this year after the closure of line B. "
But starting in September, another on-demand transport service will be introduced on the com'com for young people, a topic that had been discussed at the community council meeting. At that time, Bernard Bertelle asked to consider the issue of transport for young people to sports and cultural venues. "There are still a few points to be determined," the transport representative replied.
A little over two months later, the service will be launched. On-demand transportation will be free, but certain conditions must be met to use it. "It is open to all young people as long as they are licensed or members of an association. The service is open to all cultural and sports associations, but not religious ones. You will need to prove your membership so that the service is truly intended for access to culture and sports and not for walking around." To do this, you will simply need to register with the community of communes each year to be eligible for the service.
The TAD will take young people from the municipalities to existing stops at cultural and sports venues "at designated locations." Similar to traditional on-demand transport, the journey will necessarily be from one municipality to another, but within the catchment area. To benefit from it after registering, you'll need to book your trip the day before your trip. "For our part, we'll try to share trips through reservations. We won't make two different trips within 20 minutes."
In the same way, the com'com wants to encourage the use of public transport. "If I take an extreme case like a young person who wants to go from Belleville to Pagny, we will help them take the train . The same as for a young person from Pagny to Pont-à-Mousson. We will prioritize trains for young people in the municipalities served and leave on-demand transport to the most rural areas." With this train option, tickets will be fully reimbursed by the CCBPAM. "Young people will be reimbursed quarterly. We just ask that they take the €1 Regional card, which we will also reimburse."
Once launched, on-demand transport will last all year, except during the Christmas holidays. "We assume that culture doesn't stop in the summer." Also, even though a list of associations has been compiled, "it remains subject to change at any time. If an association is created, it can come forward to join the TAD service. We're also waiting for feedback from the mayors, in case we've forgotten anything about their municipality."
