Saxon, the British band of which Biff Byford is the only remaining original member, has been touring venues and festivals since 1976. This Friday, June 6, the band lived up to its reputation, offering polished and direct heavy metal. "Some of you weren't even born when the song we're about to play came out. No internet, no TikTok, no Facebook," the singer chided, delivering a very solid performance, even at 74 years old. Then came Powerwolf, a German power metal band founded in Saarbrücken in 2003. Compared to the three other bands that preceded them, the Germans had it under their belts in terms of stage performance. Attila Dorn, the singer, speaking very good French, managed to create an instant connection with the crowd (who had come out in large numbers to see the band on this first night), offering interactions throughout the concert.
