The Railway Workers' Museum is holding an exhibition on resistance fighters and railway workers during World War II on May 17 and 18 at the Rettel multi-purpose hall. Rare items and vintage vehicles will be on display.

Every year, more than 350 people visit the Rettel Railway Workers' Museum , marveling at the association's models and objects of all kinds. "And we've expanded the collection by adding toy trains, for example," says Laurent Courtade. "We must have more than 1,300 items." To discover the various new items, visit every Sunday afternoon in July and August or by appointment.

Those in a hurry are invited to the Rettel multi-purpose hall on May 17 and 18 to enjoy an exhibition dedicated to resistance fighters and railway workers from 1939 to 1945. "We will be bringing out rare pieces and there will be uniforms, period military vehicles and panels to learn more about the attacks on armored trains, the reprisals and executions, and even the derailment." A German sidecar, an American machine gun and a period inflatable boat will be on display. "This exhibition is possible thanks to local associations such as Fensch Militaria, the Texas Oklahoma and Third Army and the support of the municipality." Admission is free, with refreshments and snacks available.

At the same time, the association will present its new book dedicated to Jean Geiger, a railway worker from the Montigny-lès-Metz workshops. "This book traces the life of a railway worker who fought in the war as a resistance fighter, was arrested, then sentenced to death, pardoned, and imprisoned. He managed to escape and return to France," says author Laurent Courtade.
