Interview On the occasion of the passing of historian and publisher Pierre Nora, we are republishing this joint interview with the leader of La France Insoumise, Jean-Luc Mélenchon, conducted in 2021 on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Commune.
In the spring of 2021, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Commune, "le Nouvel Obs", which was still called "l'Obs", organized a meeting between the historian Pierre Nora, for whom the Commune did not contribute much to the history of the nation and the leader of La France Insoumise (and presidential candidate) Jean-Luc Mélenchon, for whom it represents "the first modern citizen revolution".
