The event, which could not be held last year due to financial reasons, was brilliantly relaunched this weekend by the Belfort Trilion team. More than 1,400 runners took part in the various events at the magnificent Malsaucy site.

It's an event that could have completely disappeared. Created in 1988, the Belfort (or Lion) triathlon was due to celebrate its twentieth anniversary in 2024. Due to a lack of sufficient funding, the Territoire de Sports association was unable to organize it. But for the Trilion club, it was unthinkable to see the Malsaucy race disappear . The members of the association then decided to roll up their sleeves to take up the torch. Explanations from its new president, Pascal Profault.

How did the resumption of the event go after this difficult phase you went through?

"The question arose when we learned that the event wasn't going to be repeated. This triathlon is a race that's close to our hearts. It's the Belfort race, and we've always loved coming to participate for 19 years, me first and foremost.
