Toul. Crosiers displayed like jewels in the treasure room of Saint-Etienne Cathedral

Following the episcopal rings last summer, the cathedral's treasury room is exhibiting thirty bishops' crosiers from different eras until September 21. This exhibition provides an opportunity to closely appreciate the fine craftsmanship of the goldsmiths who crafted these emblematic accessories for bishops, abbots, and abbesses.
How do you recognize a bishop? By his miter, the ring he wears over his white gloves, and of course, his crosier . This pastoral staff, which generally ends in a curve and can be likened to... a jewel.
