Vosges. The Gallo-Roman amphitheater of Grand invites you on a journey through time

It was once a town of 15,000 to 20,000 inhabitants. Today, the commune of Grand has only about 370. The Gallo-Roman amphitheater of Grand, in the Vosges, was built in the 1st century AD. It could accommodate up to 17,000 spectators. The complex is 148 meters long, making it one of the largest buildings of its type in the Roman Empire.

Throughout the summer, tours are offered daily at 11 a.m., 2:15 p.m., and 4:15 p.m. to explore this extraordinary architecture. A 2-km walking tour allows visitors to discover the entire site, including the Grand Mosaic, which is one of the largest in Europe at 232 m². The entire site is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. until August 31.
