A transfer of 840 euros will automatically arrive at 15 million French people in a few days

A transfer of 840 euros will automatically arrive at 15 million French people in a few days

Millions of French people will have good news in a few days.

This is good news coming in the middle of summer. In a few days, approximately 15 million French people will see an unexpected credit line appear in their bank accounts. Not everyone will receive the same amount, but on average, it will be €840. The beneficiaries of this exceptional transfer were already informed several weeks ago, but some may have forgotten that the money was coming.

At the end of July, a small line item adding to your finances will appear on your bank statement. The sender of the transfer: "DGFIP FINANCES PUBLIQUES." The label: "REMB IMPOT REVENUS." This will be the payment made to the Directorate General of Public Finances for income tax. If, in 2024, you have paid too much tax compared to your income and various expenses (childcare, mileage expenses, rental investment, etc.), the tax authorities will automatically refund what they owe you.

The exact amount that will be paid is specific to each individual. This is already indicated on the "Notice of tax return status 2025 on 2024 income" , available in your personal tax space. By clicking on "View PDF", a window will open on which will be marked, on the first page, "Amount that is refunded to you" , with the amount just below.

However, the date was not specified on this document. It simply stated: " You will be reimbursed in the summer of 2025. " Asked by Linternaute.com , the tax authorities clarified the payment schedule. The amount will arrive in bank accounts on Friday, July 25 for most taxpayers eligible for a refund. However, some will not receive it until a week later, on Friday, August 1.

To ensure the transfer reaches the correct destination, you can check the account held by the tax authorities. To do this, simply log in to your personal account, click on "Withholding Tax," then on "Update Your Bank Details" in the left-hand column. It would be a shame if the money wasn't received due to an administrative error.
