The French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC) asked airlines on Tuesday, July 1, to cancel a quarter of their flights departing from or arriving at major Paris airports on Thursday, the first day of an air traffic controllers' strike.
As the summer school holidays approach, this social movement, triggered by the second and third largest air traffic controllers' unions, will particularly affect airports in the south of France, with the DGAC announcing a halving of flight schedules at Nice, France's third largest airport, as well as at Bastia and Calvi in Corsica.
