Besançon. Nano Building: a future business hub in the heart of Temis

Besançon. Nano Building: a future business hub in the heart of Temis

On May 5, 2024, black smoke rose from the Temis technology center: the former Vix building was collapsing under the flames. Last Thursday, a little over a year after the fire, Mayor Anne Vignot laid the foundation stone of the Nano building project on the same site.

A home for microtechnology-focused companies, the Temis site will welcome a new arrival in the first half of 2027. Covering a surface area of 3,185 m2 , spread over five levels, this project, led by the Besançon-based architectural firm AACT +, aims to be ambitious, aesthetic, attractive and, above all, environmentally friendly. Anne Vignot laid the foundation stone of this Nano building last Thursday. Nano, a name that pays homage to the Franche-Comté know-how, "the small, the precise and the luxurious."

Located within the Temis site ecosystem , this building will be designed to accommodate and meet the needs of developing businesses and start-ups by offering an "attractive ecosystem" for all employees. The mayor of Besançon emphasizes the importance of the role of "supporting the company at all levels, from the first incubation stage to the place of complete development."

In line with the objectives of reducing the carbon footprint, this project aims for Building Energy Environment (BEE) certification. Faced with the challenges of drought and global warming, "we need to ensure that we are building sustainable buildings," she maintains.

Strengthening the territorial attractiveness of Besançon

Anne Vignot highlights the importance of real estate projects of this type as essential levers for providing a quality living environment for local businesses. While the capital of Franche-Comté has risen to second place among the most attractive student cities, according to the L'Étudiant ranking, it seems necessary to put in place conditions that encourage students to set up and maintain their business in Besançon.

The future of the Nano building is, according to the mayor, promising: companies have already expressed interest in setting up on a large part of its surface area.
