Civil servant salaries have generally declined in 2023

An almost general decline, in the midst of a period of inflation. The 5.8 million civil servants in France in 2023 saw their average net salary decline overall that year, INSEE revealed on Wednesday, July 23. The decline ranges from -0.2% in the State civil service (which includes National Education) to -1.2% in the territorial sector and -1.4% in the hospital sector, in constant euros, that is, taking inflation into account.
