The joint committee of MPs and senators agreed on Tuesday, May 6, on a text that should curb unwanted calls and messages, but not before the summer of 2026.

Telephone canvassing should soon be banned if the consumer has not previously expressed consent. The measure will have traveled well through Parliament before finally reaching consensus within the Joint Committee (CMP) on "the fight against fraud involving public aid" , which met this Tuesday, May 6. This is the penultimate step before its adoption (barring any surprises) by the end of the month by both chambers.

Having entered the parliamentary debate in September through a bill from the senator for Aisne (Les Indépendants - République et Territoires), Pierre-Jean Verzelen, the ban on abusive commercial canvassing is finally included in the text.
