Haute-Corse: Cars and tourist boats set on fire in Calvi

On Tuesday, June 3, five boats belonging to sea-going companies were targeted in Calvi, Haute-Corse. These fires are causing concern for the entire tourism sector just one month before the summer holidays.
Ashes and questions, on the morning of Friday, June 6, in the parking lot of a car rental agency at Calvi airport (Haute-Corse). Eight vehicles were hit and two buildings were charred. In four days, the tourism sector has been targeted three times. On Tuesday, June 3, at 3 a.m., in the port of Calvi, images show a boat on fire, on the left. On the right of the video, gasoline is sprayed, and another boat also catches fire. That night, five boats were set on fire. They belonged to three boat tour companies.
These companies are now in shock. "Emotion, incomprehension, fear. It's the result of countless hours of work. Today, we don't understand," confides Mylène Beretti, owner of Giru Mare. The next day, at the same location, a catamaran was set on fire. Who are the mysterious arsonists? Among the possibilities being considered is organized crime.
