Lorraine. Colruyt Closure: Which Stores Are Being Bought Out, Which Are Threatened?

The Belgian group that owns Colruyt stores has decided to withdraw from France and announced the sale of 81 of its 105 stores to the Les Mousquetaires group. In Lorraine, which stores will be acquired, and which ones could disappear?
Rumors of a sale had been circulating for several months when, on June 17, the Belgian group announced its withdrawal from France and entered into exclusive negotiations with the Mousquetaires Group. It was then revealed that the latter intended to acquire 81 of the 105 existing Colruyt stores , mainly in a large northeastern quarter of France.
For several days now, we've known which ones are affected. As for the remaining 24, they fall into two equal categories: 12 will be taken over by members of the E. Leclerc Movement, while 12 have still not received a takeover offer and could well close in the coming months.
In Lorraine, here is the map of the stores concerned and their future.

In the region, 26 stores are affected. We already know that for 20 of them, the near future is assured, as they will be taken over by the Les Mousquetaires group and will become Intermarché or Netto stores. Recently, employees in Moselle told us that the rebranding should take place after the end-of-year holidays, in early 2026.
Three are affected by a firm purchase offer from the E.Leclerc Movement : the supermarkets of Thillot (Vosges), Beuvillers (54) and Serémanges (57).
The last three, all in Moselle, are still for sale : in Faulquemont, Moyeuvre-Grande and Carling. "We are in the dark. We have no more information than what we read in the press," the affected employees proclaim on the website of Le Républicain Lorrain .
Twenty-six jobs could thus disappear. " We are actively pursuing the search for serious and responsible buyers to ensure long-term continuity, while avoiding prolonged situations of uncertainty for employees and customers," management announced a few days ago.
Since the first half of 2021, Colruyt has been renting a warehouse in the Gondreville-Fontenoy business park . 50 people are employed there and it manages the distribution of 32 stores.
In the press release published by the brand on June 17, it was stated that "the warehouses of Dole Choisey, Rochefort-sur-Nenon and Gondreville-Fontenoy (Meurthe-et-Moselle) are not included in the firm offer of the group, because they are not compatible with the current network of the Mousquetaires Group."
However, Intermarché had committed on the same day to offering 175 permanent positions to these employees to strengthen the Mousquetaires' bases in Dole and Pagny-sur-Meuse. We should know more in the coming months.
