MaPrimeRénov' will restart on September 15, confirms the Minister of Public Accounts

President Emmanuel Macron urged the government on Saturday to "maintain" its focus on ecology, highlighting in an interview with the regional daily press the "uncertainties surrounding the measures put in place" following the announcement of the suspension of MaPrimeRénov'.

"The President of the Republic is absolutely right to say that this is a necessary policy. But he is so right that it is also absolutely intolerable" to have "massive fraud," Amélie de Montchalin declared on RTL.

Homeowners will be able to submit their aid applications "until the end of June," she continued, before the suspension of MaPrimeRénov' scheduled for July 1.

"In July, August and early September, we will conduct a complete review: all the files of honest people that have been submitted will be paid, all the files of fraudsters will be excluded," she explained, emphasizing that this was not a matter of "penny-pinching."

"This will allow us to reopen the window on September 15 and allocate 100% of the funds in this public policy for use by honest people," she said.

"Changing the rules"

Last week, the government announced the temporary closure of the MaPrimeRénov' application window for comprehensive energy renovations and one-off insulation and boiler replacement work.

Housing Minister Valérie Létard had also indicated that she wanted to "change the rules" of the applicable system, planning for its reopening "by the end of September."

On Sunday, Economy Minister Éric Lombard affirmed that ecology remained "an absolute priority" for the government and that the suspension of MaPrimeRénov' was not motivated by "ulterior budgetary motives."
