Meurthe-et-Moselle: Harvest, a risky time for farmers

The harvest season is a particularly sensitive time for agricultural accidents, particularly fires, which are fueled by drought and extreme heat. In response to these dangers, the Meurthe-et-Moselle Chamber of Agriculture is strengthening prevention efforts with its partners.

With the mercury rising above 36 degrees, Thursday, June 30, was a good time to raise awareness of agricultural risks during the harvest period.

Several risks

The Chamber of Agriculture and the FDSEA of Meurthe-et-Moselle brought together all their partners, stakeholders in prevention and safety, on a plot of land at the GAEC de Germont, at Xavier and Hélène Guiot's, in Gerbécourt-et-Haplemont, around a common objective: to raise farmers' awareness of the various risks associated with their activity.

Representatives from the gendarmerie, SDIS 54, MSA, Enedis, and Groupama responded to the invitation to discuss road safety for agricultural machinery and the prevention of damage to farm property.
